𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐞-𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐤-𝐔𝐩 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬

Updated: Sep 2

As offshore wind farms (OWFs) move into deeper, more complex environments, traditional zonation approaches to jack-up vessel assessments can introduce unnecessary conservatism, risk, and rework. At 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞, we’ve evolved our methodology to meet the demands of this changing landscape, delivering full 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐞-𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 (𝐒𝐒𝐀𝐬) and 𝐋𝐞𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐬 (𝐋𝐏𝐀𝐬) 𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 from the outset.

Why? Because we believe that precision, efficiency, and safety should go hand-in-hand.

Our SSAs are performed in full compliance with 𝐈𝐒𝐎 19905-1:2023, with supplementary guidance from 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐔𝐊 and the 𝐔𝐊 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 & 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 (𝐇𝐒𝐄), ensuring robust, defensible results. Each assessment considers:

·        Leg Penetration, Fixity & Bearing Capacity

·        Foundation Risk Assessments

·        Structural Strength, considering operational and storm survival conditions

·        Preload Optimisation

Unlike the traditional zonation model, our methodology avoids broad-brush judgements and embraces 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞-𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲, without compromising cost or schedule. Thanks to parallel batch analysis capabilities built into our proprietary workflows, our per-location SSA approach often proves more 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 and 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫, particularly for scopes with multiple vessel load conditions, seasonality or directionality requirements.

Together with our strategic partners Clockwork Engineering (CWE), we bring over 40 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞 in jack-up engineering. CWE’s in-house tool 𝐍𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐬, a powerful suite for FE and hydrodynamic modelling, drives bespoke, high-fidelity assessments that support rig moves, vessel design optimisation, and even monopile foundation design.

Our integrated approach combines geotechnical insight, structural analysis, and numerical modelling into one coherent, easy-to-read deliverable.

Whether you're a vessel owner, marine warranty surveyor, or OWF developer, we offer a ‘one-stop shop’ for reliable, ISO-compliant assessments.
