Seawork - Wrap up

Updated: Sep 2

This June, the team at Scott Marine Consultants exhibited at Seawork for the very first time. It was a big moment for us—stepping into one of Europe’s largest commercial marine exhibitions—and we’re really pleased with how it went.

Over the three days in Southampton, we had the chance to speak with a wide range of people from across the industry. From port operators and vessel designers to offshore contractors and equipment suppliers, the conversations were thoughtful, wide-ranging and productive. For a consultancy like ours, where trust and clarity are everything, having the chance to sit down face-to-face made all the difference.

On our stand we focused on discussing real-world marine challenges from weather downtime and offshore construction risk, to vessel mobilisation and cable-lay operations. A recurring theme was the importance of understanding operational detail early, so that risks can be flagged and managed well before they affect schedules or budgets. It’s an area we’ve always been passionate about, and Seawork gave us a great opportunity to share some of the insights we’ve built up through years of practical, on-the-ground work.

The show was also a valuable chance to introduce people to the broader team at Scott Marine Consultants. Many of our clients know us from individual projects or specific studies, but Seawork gave us the chance to explain the full range of what we do from marine warranty and due diligence to root cause analysis, motions analysis, and mooring design. We also got to share our new marketing materials, which helped start some great conversations and made it easier for people to see how we might support their work.

After the exhibition, we had a quick turnaround before heading to Global Offshore Wind in London. What was particularly encouraging was that some of the conversations we started at Seawork continued there.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the stand, gave us feedback, or introduced us to new ideas.

If you didn’t get a chance to meet us in Southampton and want to know more about what we do, we’re always happy to chat. Just drop us a message—we’d love to hear from you.
