Three Month Reflections from James Adcock

It’s hard to believe it’s already been three months since James Adcock joined the team as Engineering Director.  He’s quickly become an integral part of the team! James has shared a few reflections on his journey so far:

“It’s been three fast-paced and rewarding months since I joined Scott Marine Consultants. 

We’re a small, boutique team based in 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐨𝐧 but what we lack in size, we more than make up for in 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Every day here is shaped by complex, high-impact projects that demand critical thinking, creativity, and a solutions-driven mindset.

From supporting 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬 delivering the next generation of infrastructure in challenging environments, to collaborating with 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬  bringing new marine technologies to life, our work is diverse, technical, and always engaging.

What’s struck me most is the 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, a welcoming, dynamic environment that blends technical excellence with real camaraderie. Whether its lunchtime runs, paddleboarding, or team socials, there’s a genuine sense of connection and balance.

I’m excited about what’s ahead. With a strong foundation, great people, and a fascinating pipeline of projects, I’m looking forward to helping the team grow and continuing to deliver smart, dependable solutions for our clients.
